“Music comes from Africa” – Aliou Touré of Songhoy Blues. They are Songhoy people from Northern Mali and they play the blues, the African desert blues. Aliou tells us about how the band found a new musical path by meeting Damon Albarn and becoming part of the African-British artist collaboration Africa Express. After leaving the troubled, music and culture hostile regime in Northern Mail, the band was formed in Mali’s capital Bamako – their exile music is about peace and reconciliation and the blend of traditional and modern sound makes for forceful, sparkling songs  that’ll make our body move.
