Thurston Moore and Mats Gustafsson have been remarkable figures in the realm of free music for quite a while now. Sporting weird, off-the-scales guitar for over 30 years, Thurston Moore’s presence on the experimental rock scene can’t be overstated one bit, and the exact same should be said about Mats Gustafsson whose involvement in improvisation and free jazz is immense. In most of this session Gustafsson’s usual weapon of choice, the saxophone, has yielded to power electronics and together with Moore’s raw guitar action they paint a blurry and noisy picture of modern improv music.
